  • Motorcycle rentals are available through PacMoto. Click here to reserve a motorcycle.

  • Once you have completed the online registration and paid your deposit, you will get written confirmation of your spot on the tour.

  • Insurance is provided through RIDERS SHARE.

  • Rental terms and conditions are provided by RIDERS SHARE.

  • All rental motorcycles come with hard panniers at no extra charge. Some GS bikes have aluminum panniers and others have Caribou Luggage. RTs are equipped with factory panniers. Top cases may be available upon request and no extra charge, if available.

  • Every rental motorcycle has an SAE wiring harness attached to the battery. Renters are welcome to utilize the SAE connector for their own heated gear or USB chargers. Avoid draining the battery: disconnect attachments when the motorcycle engine is not running. BMW motorcycles also have the Powerlet-style plug.

  • Customers may supply their own GPS units and handlebar mounts for fitment to rental motorcycles by the rental staff prior to departure. All BMW R12xx RT motorcycles are fitted with cradles for the BMW NAV series. RT models do not accommodate handlebar RAM phone mounts. Renters are welcome to supply their own GPS units. Renters on adventure touring models are welcome to supply their own RAM handlebar mount.

  • All riders and passengers are required to wear a full-face, DOT approved helmet regardless of state law. 

  • For safety purposes, you should wear full riding gear with armor. Proper riding gear (leather, GORE-TEX, Cordura) is essential to cope with the temperature changes due to altitude and weather conditions and to help protect you in case of an accident. Jeans (without Kevlar and armor) and chaps are not considered suitable riding gear. 

  • Always. Throughout the west coast the weather can have dramatic changes day to day, even morning to afternoon to evening. Have you ever heard the quote from Mark Twain: “the coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco?” Even if you only need heated gear for a few hours it will enhance your riding experience. Don’t forget your rain gear too!

  • Absolutely! You can ship your gear to the rental facility where you pick up your motorcycle. Our customer service team will leave the box sealed for you to open upon arrival unless otherwise directed. 

  • We strongly recommend that all riders protect their financial situation by purchasing travel insurance on their rental package and accompanying logistics with a trip insurance policy. PacMoto Tours is not responsible for a participant’s inability to attend a tour due to any circumstance whether it be health, family or environmental.

    All tours must be canceled in writing to our email address info@pacmototours.com. Please include your full name and reservation number. The cancellation policy is available in the Tour Terms and Conditions.

  • Of course! If you are comfortable doing so there will be opportunities for those that want to ride faster to ride ahead and meet the group at the next stopping point.

  • Lodging can range across the board. Typically we select hotel chains such at Holiday Inn Express, Hilton Garden Inn, Marriott Courtyard, Best Western, Red Lion or La Quinta. In some more remote places, especially in Mexico, we select the best available lodging, which may be more “rustic,” shall we say.

  • No. You need to arrange your own flights, however, we will be happy to help you select an itinerary that gives you ample time around the start and end of your tour.

  • For tours originating in Bend, Oregon the closest airport is Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM). This airport is less than 30 minutes from Bend. Another option is to fly to Portland International Airport (PDX) which is about 3 hours from Bend.

    For tours originating in San Diego, the best airport is San Diego International Airport (SAN).

  • Riding days are typically 5-6 hours starting with an 8:30am briefing and a 9am kickstands up. The mileage can vary greatly depending on the complexity of the roads, ferry crossings, border crossings or other activities. Some trips have a riding day longer than 6 hours; we normally have kickstands up at 8am on these days.

  • We limit the number motorcycles on the tour to 10 riders, although it is normally 6-7 riders. This helps to help keep a feeling of togetherness throughout these amazing riding experiences. In a private tour we could exceed 10 motorcycles, which would then be accompanied by a second tour guide.

  • Yes. If a tour is cancelled by PacMoto Tours ahead of departure due to a lack of participation, all deposits and balance payments are 100% transferable and refundable.
