baja taco time

2024 - sat, nov 2nd, to sat, nov 9th

TRIP summary

Join our guided motorcycle tour to Baja for a 1 week ride through this Mexican paradise - friendly people, scrumptious food, and lots of sunshine.

Upon arrival in San Diego, you will meet your rental motorcycle and ensure it is set up for you. The evening begins with a welcome reception to meet the PacMoto team and your fellow riders. After breakfast and a rider briefing, we'll take the back way to Tecate to cross the border. Instantly you’ll smell the street tacos and know you are in Mexico!

Our adventure takes us across MX-2 winding through the mountains and skirting the town of Mexicali as we grab MX-5 south to San Felipe, BC. San Felipe still shows its roots as a small fishing village on the Sea of Cortez.

South out of San Felipe the highway is rough until we join with the newly constructed MX-5. You’ll see the world’s largest cactus known as the Mexican Cardón. We’ll stop for lunch at Alfonsina’s at Bahía San Luis Gonzaga. We’ll continue down MX-5 to MX-1 as we end the day in Bahía de los Ángeles. The small fishing village is known for its water sports and sport fishing.

Northbound on MX-1 we journey to Cataviña. We’ll stop to see the cave paintings, reported to be 8,000 to 10,000 years old. The next morning we continue up MX-1 to Ensenada. We’ll stop for lunch at Mama Espinoza’s in El Rosario. This was a stop of the original Baja 1000. Lobster tacos are the house specialty!

Our final riding day takes us across La Ruta de Vino to Tecate through the Valle de Guadalupe, sometimes called the Napa Valley of Mexico. After crossing the border we continue up to San Diego to return our motorcycles. We will join together again for a farewell dinner.
